8:52p – Starting to not feel good in a flu sick way.  Rest of my family has been battling it for a week now.

9:10p- Another unexplained bloody nose.  I had no warning this time.  It’s not from pain killers.  I haven’t taken one in at least three or four days.  I’ve been feeling it too.  I hurt so much, but trying to be brave. Idk.

9:47p- bright lights are bothering me.  Head hurts.  I’m achey all over.

11:41p- Chest is hurting.  I’m tired of being in pain all the time.  I just want to get better, but I don’t know how to fix this.  Lord, please help.

December 15, 2017

12:51a- Long day…moderate pain.  Second sore started leaking and it stinks.  Head hurts now and its tingling.  Not sure what to think.  Throbbing pain in middle lower back.  Rt hip hurts.  Rt ankle hurtz.  Rt wrist was swollen and aching.  Wore magnetic bracelet and it helped.  Upper back has tingling sensation.

It blesses my heart to get hugs from the kids at church. It makes me more proud when they bring their friends to church. Now praying that the ones that came tonight will get saved. 😊

6:41p- Sore on head hurts.  Still oozing a little.  Back hurts.  Rt wrist swollen and throbbing.  Exhausted…need a nap.  Head feels foggy.

Psalms 23:6 – Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Thankful that nothing can separate me from God’s love and favour. Peaceful contentment can only come when we trust the Lord wholeheartedly (Proverbs 3:5), and seek to please Him in all we do (Matthew 6:33).

Matthew 2:1-2
​ Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

Thankful that no matter what our station in life we can worship Christ with our whole heart. True worship shows reverence and adoration to God.
Worship is not only a precious gift to God but also helps to adjust our perspectives in life. It can fill our hearts with love, encourage us, and strengthen our faith.

“O Come All Ye Faithful
Joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him,
Born the King of Angels;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.”

1:25p- Hands and wrists are tingly.  Rt wrist hurts.  Making soup in microwave, hands jerking while getting bowl of soup out.  I dropped bowl and spilt some liquid burning my rt hand on process.

Itchy skin.  Heart rate fast and hard.  Exhausted.  Trying to take care of three sickies while trying to heal yourself is not easy.

4:47p – I’m thankful that I survived being struck by lightning. One day I hope to attend the conference to talk to others who have also survived. 
It’s only been 4.5 months for me. It’s been a tough road, but I have already learned so much. I am thankful for God’s faithfulness and the new friends I’m making along the way. Lamentations 3:22-23

• The above video link gives a small insight into what it feels to be struck by lightning and some of the aftereffects.
• It has been very helpful to be part of the lightning support groups that we found on Facebook. I have been able to ask questions of other survivors to find out if symptoms are associated with after effects of a lightning strike and how they handled them. Though no one has all the answers (sometimes no answers at all) it helps to know that someone else understands and gets where you are coming from.

1:51- took all morning to plsn meals for week and find best deals.  Now have a bad headache.  Brain hurtsz.  Out of breath and exhausted.

10:39p- Right hip throbbing. Rt ankle hurts.  Sensitivity to bright lights and loud noises.  Center of chest hurts.

Matthew 7:7-8
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Thankful that I can practice the presence of God throughout my day whether I am washing dishes, doing my personal devotions, running errands, or working on a job. When I practice “running the race” (1 Corinthians 9:24-27) with God by my side, I find more peace and joy than running alone.

Matthew 1:20
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

Thankful that in the face of adversity Joseph chose to believe the Lord and faced the battle with courage and strength, knowing that God had a divine plan for it all. We may not understand the sorrow or turmoil we face here on earth, but God can turn our sorrows and pain into eternal joy if we allow Him to work in and through our lives.

10:08p- Forgot about writing until now.  Took muscle relaxer on top of Benadryl  as neurologist suggested.  I ended up over sleeping until 9am.  Rt hip aches, but doesn’t hurt as bad as yesterday.  Center of chest has had burning pain most of day.  Rt ankle achy.  Rt wrist swollen.  Upper back hurts.  Troubled with remembering specific words or saying what I’m thinking.

Got frustrated trying to pay bills this morning and my skin began a blushing flushing.  Got hot.  Not handling stress too well.

It’s time for bed and I’m wide awake.

God doesn’t choose us because He knows that were confident and able to follow.  He choses us because of what we’re capable of.

11:55p- Still wide awake.  Center of chest throbbing.  Beginning to get icy sensation as well.  Took pain pill.  Ringing in left ear.

Thankful that of all the billions of people in the world God not only sees me, but also knows me by name!

1:52p- woke and still have a headache.  Entire right side hurts.

11:50p- Right side of head hurts.  Rt hip is throbbing.  Rt ankle hurts.  Cramping on rt side.  Rt ear hurts too.

8:41am – Headache is just about gone.  Rt hip swollen and throbbing like a severe tooth ache.  Rt foot and ankle hurts.  Eyes still sensitive to bright lights. Sinus cavities on face hurt especially on rt side.  Lower back aches.

11:35a- why would one have trouble focusing?  When I strain to do so it causez blurred vision and headaches.

10:02p- What a joyous time in church when a child rings the bell to acknowledge that she accepted Christ as her Saviour!

Luke 1:37 – For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Thankful that we can have eternal life through Jesus. He alone can change a life. He will take care of all our needs.

7:31p- Fell asleep fairly quickly, but woke up off and on most of night.  Woke up exhausted.

Rt hip hurts.  Feet are tingly like waking up from falling asleep.  Stuffy nose.  Neck hurts.  Hands aches.  Back is sore.

10:15p- I’m tired. Busy day.  FCS roller skating party today.  Bank.  Library.  Thrift Store.  Home again.

My upper torso hurts.  My head hurts. Rut hip hurts.  Body aches.  Left knee hurts.

7:27a- woke with a bad headache.  Stuffy nose.  Shoulders ache.  Rt hip hurts.

8:22p – IT’S SNOWING!!! 

9:46p – The kids made snowmen!

8:43a- Slept 5 hours last night.  Got extremely hot then extremely cold all night.  Body aches all over.  Cycle pain.  Rushing too fast to get ready…getting dizzy.  I’m tired out now.

James 4:14
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Unexpected things could happen in a moment that will change your life in a flash. Treasure your loved ones. Pray about everything. Trust Him to provide. Be thankful for what God allows in your life today. I’m thankful that I can depend upon the Lord’s mercy and grace to sustain me throught it all.

9:34p- Whole body sore most of day.  Left ear ringing for about half hour.  Center of chest hurts.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Thankful that I have found a true friend in Jesus who will never, ever leave me. “He’s the fairest of ten thousands to my soul!”

9:07a- feeling really week right now.  Took me over an hour to figure out how to ship to AE address.

Sad thing is I know I’ve done it before.  I just don’t remember how.

5:31- been awake for what seems like hours.  My whole body aches.  Stuffy nose and having trouble breathing.  Feel like I’m burning up, but temp is 98.5.  Exhausted.

3:20p- Bp 155/95 hr 85, temp 99.0

Found out today that my low grade fever is due to my electrical system being fried by the lightning.  Dr. was actually encouraged that my temp was down a degree from last month.

Lightning fries the electrical system and goes straight to the brain.  Also, flushing is from the nerve damage.

Dr. thinks that the nosebleeds may be from the Naproxen and wants me to stop taking it for a while.  I asked what to do when pain gets too bad.  He said to take the Flexeril instead.  Also, wants me to take 2 Benadryl at night to help with allergies.

10:17p- Joe explained why he thinks I’m doing better than I think I’m doing.  He sees that I’m walking faster than I was.  I’m thinking and processing things a little faster.

9:04am- I actually slept for 6 hours last night.  I feel like I need more.  Upper back hurts.  Fingers hurt.  Feet cold.  Chest tingles.

12:45pm- Joe lifted me up from behind just to love on me and my spine cracked all the way up.

November 30, 2017

6:37a- Pain pulsating in back, lower legs, and feet throbbing, hands have pins and needles sensation.  Woke up exhausted.  Neck hurts.

8:02a- Isaiah 53:4-5 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Thankful that Jesus loved me so much that He was willing to endure much suffering and agony that I might be able to choose everlasting life.

12:17p- Trouble walking first thing this morning – sharp pain in left heal.  Lasted about 30 minutes or so.  Tried to start planning curriculum for next year…focused about a broken up hour before eyes start getting blurry, brain foggy, and brain hurts.

Back hurts, toes cold and chilly, fingers pins and needles sensation, hands ache, very tired.

3:45p- Kids got clean bill of health at dentist today. While getting in the car, one of them admitted they were nervous because they had forgotten to brush at night a few times. 
To which the other replied, “Who doesn’t forget to brush their teeth at night?”
I replied, “Me.”
First child says, ” That’s funny! Our mom who struggles remembering things right now. Remembers to brush her teeth every night.”  LOL!

11:14p- Horrible, aweful cramping on left side of torso!!! Joe made told me to drink pickle juice.  YUCK!  I ate two pickles instead and used heating pad for a while.
