Sept 16

7:00a- woke on stomach hands not numb but whole back is throbbing. Joe said that during the night I acted as though something was crawling all over me and trying to get it off. Hed ask me what’s wrong. I’d say nothing.

10:00a- left eye twitching

11:00a- headache

11:21p- at one point today my rt leg felt as is it was being strangled and losing life. Random sharp stabing pain in legs today. Random ear ringing. Neck hurts. Headache. Brain fog & blurred vision. Low back throbbing. Chest aching. Exhausted but still awake.

Sept 17

7:30a-Woke to sweating like crazy, back aches, eyes hard to open, feet hurt, arms ache. Strange dream…dreamt I went for walk and got lost. In my dream, I began noticing colors so vivid I had never seen before a spider spinning a golden web, swan on deep blue river with sapphire gem in middle of head, rainbow in ocean full of colorful creatures.

8:00a- mild bloody nose, feeling weak

1:00p- sneezed and bloody nose gushed

10:00p- bad headache. Bp 119/81. Neck hurts

Sept 18

Indigestion is a daily thing now no matter what I eat or drink.  Discovered rash on belly today. I was itching it earlier without knowing it was there. Headaches. Whole body aches from doing too much today. 

Sept 13

8:00a- rough night, much pain, woke with both hands numb & tingling, low backntgrobbing, head hurts, rt ear hurts, feet hurt, calves aches, stomach cramping, ears ringing, light is bothering my eyes

10.46a- Rcvd ltr yday from DDS informing me tjat dr last week found something that needed immediate attention. Called Dr and have apt at 10:15

Dr apt. Bp 111/78, temp 98.7

When I close my eyes I see kaleidoscope spinning counterclockwise with one band going clockwise. Its dizzy time. Head hurts.

At least my bp is low. 

Lord please keep those in path of nc hurricane safe. Dissipate hurrocane so it doesn’t do much damage.

Dr didn’t know why I was there.  Dr said they say that to get you to follow up with primary Dr. Norhing new to treat. 

I asked for copy of the report. I also showed her the note of items the Dr suggested. She is going to order labs because it’s been a while. She said to ask neurologist about the other items when I see him next.

Dr kindly gave me back my money which was a blessing!

According to their Drs notes there should be nothing wrong with me. Frustrating. 

I was upset at first, but then I thought if God’s allowing me to go through this to help others then I need to know how they feel so I can better know how to help. 

I do know if my attorney didn’t think they could win they wouldn’t have taken me on. We’ll just have to see what happens.

11:25a- Dr apt was perplexing. Dr didn’t know why I was there. Says that most letters from them state that to get you to follow up with Dr. Showed Dr note from last weeks visit of what their Dr suggested I ask my primary about. My Dr said they’d checked my thyroid it was fine. She asked don’t you see neurologist? Yes.

Asked for copy of CE report. Note from what I gather note says I should be able to walk without assistance. 

2:04p- muscles in rt leg near knee are twitching.

7:29p- brain feels dizzy & foggy, rr leg muscle still twitching

Sept 14

Woke from a nightmare…

9:00a-Woke with both hands and arms numb and tingly.  Low back aching. Rt hip hurts. Tummy hurts. Slight headache. Eyes crusty on edges. Rt leg hurts. Calves ache.

4:50p- left eye twitching off and on all dsy. Its annoying. Calves throbbing.

10:30p- noticed lymph node on left side of neck very swollen again. Lft ear ringing. Toes tingly. calves throbbing. Buttock aches. Exhausted. Feel like I’m gonna pass out. Headaches. Rt ear hurts.

11:35p- still wide awake. Sharp stabbing pain in left index finger…shots from knuckle to tip of finger 

Sept 15

7:00a- woke with arms & hands slightly numb but very tingly. legs feel tingly. Rt hip hurts. Low back aches. 

10:30a- unexpected goose bumps up and down legs, low back throbbing, hands swollen and achy

11:09p- hands and arms numb and tingly, low back aches, rt hip hurts, lymph nodes on left side of neck quite noticeably swollen, neck hurts & sore

Sept 10

So I found out why neurologist asked me to spell “world” backwards. It’s to test my attention, memory, & cognitive impairment.

Sept 11

7:20- had trouble opening eyes this morning almost as if some swollen, hands and fingers were numb, feet hurt, center of chest huring, left temple twitching

2.53 So today…at my TBI mtg, I finally mustered up enough courage to ask for help in pointing me in the right direction with setting up my blog/website because I’m stuck and my brain isn’t comprehending it all. I did my best to explain to the directors of what I wanted to accomplish and why. One of the ladies (I don’t remember her name)  offered to ask some of her techy friends if they’d be willing to volunteer to help.  Lord willing, I’ll finally pass this hurdle.

Thankful for God’s faithfulness along this journey. It’s definitely been a hard row to hoe.  A friend  reminded me yesterday of the chorus “My Lord knows the way through the wilderness all I have to do is follow.”  In following, I hope that I may be able help other’s along the way.

Sept 12

Everything I eat gives me indigestion. Ugh!

Co-op went well but wore me out

Had trouble falling asleep to take nap slept for 30 minutes

5pm- received tr from ssd telling me to contact my dr asap. Concerning. At least it’s not a denial yet.

10:47- low back aches, rt hip hurts, rt  upper arm aches, finger tips on both hands tingly. Tired but having trouble falling asleep. 

Sept 7

8:00am-I don’t hurt as bad as I thought I would after the stress of two SSI apts yesterday. Ended up taking my time and cleaning up the laundry room. 

Earlier in the week, I decided to cook the turkey in the freezer so we’d have meat options since we’re low on meat in our freezer. Really hope my husband can get a deer or two this winter.

12:30pm- Boy, I didn’t think that idea through. I’m only one home after lunch. I haven’t been able to pick up 20lbs since my lightning strike without hurting myself (its causes severe pain later-Costocondritis pain). I guess we’ll find out. It took some effort, but I managed to get it out of fridge and into oven. It’s heavier than I remembered. Had to google how to cook it because I forgot. Ugh! I almost forgot to take out the innards. Oops! If only my memory would cooperate better.

6:00pm- I’m begining to feel the effects of my efforts today. Chest is beginning to throb and so is my right arm & elbow. I also have. Headache.

Sept 8

7:30a woke in great pain. Hard to move. Hands numbish & tingly, very swollen. Rt wrist and arm ache. Neck throbbing. Headache. Feet hurt. Back throbbing. Rt hip aching. Nightmares last night. If I could cry, I would.

Stayed home. Fell back to sleep. Scared awake around 11am by a mower.

I guess I now know not to clean laundry room again anytime soon. Have to figure out how I can managed to get things done without hurting myself. 

Sept 9 – no entry

1:19am- upper arms hurt, hands going numb, wide awake…not good

1:48- still wide awake…ears hurt, rt hip aches, center of chest burning periodically. Took melatonin & pain med.

 10.46p LATE AFTERNOON UPDATE ON GORDON: Gordon is expected to make landfall tonight just west of Dauphin Island, near the Alabama/Mississippi border, as a category one hurricane. Gordon now is packing sustained winds of 70 mph, and the pressure is right at 1000 mb. Some strengthening is still possible before it reaches the coast tonight.

10:47- my whole body hurts! I have a headache. Power has been out for an hour now. Don’t know when it’ll come back on. Storm is making me tense.  

Sept 5

My whole body still hurts. Hard to move. Entire back throbbing. Rt ear hurts. Hands swollen and achy. Sharp pain under rt middle finger that shoot up entire hand. Arms hurt.

12pm- tried to clear kitchen table by putting paint in Dezirae’s closet. I accidentally dropped one jar. The lid  popped off and split gray paint on tan floor! Ugh! Joe used paint thinner to get up as much as possible. House stinks. I wasn’t thinking and washed Dezirae’s blanket with rags!

Sept 1

Slept til 10am – that’s unusual for me. Woke with both arms & hands numb, tingly & aching, entire back aching with lower back throbbing, toes feel funny, eyes feel heavy & crusty but there’s none.No gumption to do anything today. Raining off and on most of day. Hurts to move.

Sept 2

Slightly dizzy. Upper back stings like I have a sunburn. Neck hurts. Hands hurt. Feet tingly.

11:30- my watch quit working again. trouble following music. Can’t seem to get my fingers to cooperate. Headache. Eyes feel crossed & blurry. Rt elbow & hand throbbing.

6:15- such difficulty playing piano for church today…eyes & brain feel blurry and crossed…closing eyes I see orange “X” across face. Ugh!

9:00- eyes are burning, congested, coughing

10:00- going to bed not feeling goodLow back aches, rt hip hurts, rt side of back hurts from sneezing, rt elvow throbbing, sneezing, congestion, watery eyes, headache, chest popping, chest aches, rt side of neck hurts…

Sept 3

10:00am- slept for 10 hours last night (1st time since before strike).

10:00pm- In an effort to try to not injure my rt elbow/forearm anymore, I used my left arm more today and injured it in the process! Ugh! I’ll figure things out eventually.  Low back hurts, hands hurt, left eye twitched a few times today, center of chest hurts, back of legs hurt, headache, neck rt side hurts

Aug 28 

12:30am- indigestion so bad I feel sick to my stomach. Burping burns. Took papaya

1:40am- finally easing…might be able to sleep now

8:32am- my whole body hurts! Entire back throbbing! Hands swollen, throbbing, and numb, rt hip throbbing, eyes blurry, neck hurts.

10:24pm- little to no energy today. 

Folded one load of clothes from yday and put away. Deposited paycheck.  Picked up shelf for my dad to hang in Dezirae’s closet with Dezirae’s help. Took her to vball practice. Jordon helped me get a few groceries. Not much else. Hard to much in pain.

Aug 29

Chest pain in center of chest, calves cramping, arms hurt, shoulders hurt, back hurts

It’s storming outside causing more pain and anxiety 

11:38pm – costocondritis flair up is painful. Took Naproxen & Melatonin after other nighttime meds. 

Tips of fingers tingly. Rt hand cramped causing me to drop phone. Left hand starting to cramp. Rt hip hurts. Loow back hurts. Toes & feet hurt. Periodic random stabbing sensation throughout body.

Aug 30

7:55am woke up late and in much pain. Rough night from pain in chest…couldn’t get comfortable. 

10:00am – extreme pain in low back & rt hip. Hands ache. Toes hurt. Lips are twitching. Neck throbbing.

Aug 31

1.43p Dreamed I relived the lightning strike incident. Not sure what to think about it.

11.28p Trouble moving all day. Calves ache fiercely and cramping with any wffort of walking. Sat most of day. 

Managed to get some of kids school supplies ordered. Took pkg to post office. Got bandages for Joe at store for his arm. It turns my stomach to look at it, but still have to help him change bandages daily. 

Lord, I need you.

Legs and feet tingling & twitching. Lower back and butt aches. Rt hip area aches. Rt hand feels like I sprained it & it’s swollen. Rt shoulder area aches. Left eye twitching off and on all day. Left ear ringing periodically. Slight headache.   

Aug 25

Rt leg cramped when I stood up. Decided to rub it to get it to stop. Found knot on back of rt knee.

Aug 26

Bp this morning 115/83. During morning services started to not feel so good – not feeling right, weak, tired, dizzy. Felt off most of day. Took 2 hour nap after lunch. 

Worked on sorting SS material. Shortly after I stood up, my nose began to bleed. Checked bp when got home – 130/83

Now tired, but having trouble falling asleep. 

Rt ear aches, jaw hurts, hands numb & tingling, low back & rt hip throbbing. Feet feel tingly. Slight headache. Lft lymph node in neck still quite swollen. Congested.  Rt elbow quite swollen and throbbing.  

Aug 27

12.16p- Praise! I had Dr visit today to follow up on my blood pressure. Dr was pleased with my results. I also get to start working on getting off the night time blood pressure medicine.
Thank you, Lord, for your grace is sufficient!

1:05pm-Woke with headache, low back & rt hip throbbing, hands swollen and achy, dizzy, unstable on feet, slightly nauseous.

3:55pm-put away Joe’s clothes on dresser…calves are throbbing & cramping! Must stop & rest awhile. Tears are leaking out. Butt muscles throbbing.

10:30pm- calves cramping – hurts horribly, upper back pins and burning, low back hurts, indigestion, burping, congested, rt elbow aching, rt hip hurts, trouble falling asleep

Aug 21

Very lethargic feeling most of day. Over tired. 

4:00p took Bp at walmart. 117/74. Feeling a little better.  

Rt side of neck hurts. Rt hip throbbing. Rt ear aches. Left neck lymph node still swollen. Upper back hurts. Ears rining off and on all day. Toes freezong right now. Hands keep going numb & tingly. 

Aug 23

8.07 Rough night.  Back hurts, rt elbow hurts, chest hurts, feet tingly, head hurts, exhausted, bottom of feet hurt, stuffy nose & congested. Cramping in rt side. Hands tingly. Rt wrist hurts.

12.35p Felt half way decent today.  Washed several loads of clothes, puttied hole in door…overdid it. My rt hip throbbing, rt arm to elbow is slowen and throbbing, low back hurts.  Headache slightly. Both calves cramping. Hands tingly and numbing. Chest hurts.

8.35a Had a rough night. Bones kept cracking when I tossed & turned to try to get comfortable. It hurt. 

My whole body aches and pains right now. Hands swollen and achy. Feet & lower legs tingly and aching. Rt side of neck feels tight and aches. Low back throbbing. Rt hip area aches. Eyes crusty and blurry. Rt eye twitching. Rt elbow swollen and throbbing.

5.30p Praise!  My Dr applied for applied for prescription assistance for me to get help with my newest bp medicine.  I was approved for one year!  Praising the Lord!

6.30 A peek in the window of a lightning survivor’s world…

     So…I’ve been trying to work on setting up a website/blog since April to document my recovery in an effort to help others as well.  I have purchased a book, tried to read the book, watched youtube videos, etc and it still seems like Greek to me. 

     I thought I was making a little progress today until I hit the wrong button and messed it all up.  Now I’m trying to fix it, but I can’t remember how I did it in the first place.  Ugh! 

     Time to take a much-needed break and try again later.  Praying for the Lord’s wisdom in setting up the website/blog.

Aug 18

7:00am- intended to get up early, but decided to sleep longer because I was tired and hurting

8:00am- my whole body hurts!  Entire back throbbing, rt hip hurts, rt foot hurts, left hand tingly and aching, hands swollen, headache.

10:30am- bp 125/83

Aug 19

5:30a – had trouble sleeping last night…kept hearing noises and couldn’t figure them out.  Joe woke me up too early. Ugh!

7:00a- dumb printer giving me fits this morning…keeps jamming and trying to print bulletin on wrong size paper. Took me an hour to get 20 bulletins printed. Frustrating.

Meantime, calves started cramping bc I was standing too long. Upper back stinging needle pain, neck throbbing especially rt side, exhausted.   

2:27p – upper & middle back throbbing, rt jaw hurts, left knee periodic stabbing pain which makes me jump. It’s storming outside.

10:21p- abdominal menstrual cramping is intense, burning stinging pain in back, rt ear ringing of an on all afternoon, stuffy nose, feet freezing

Aug 20

My rt hip is throbbing. Rt ear aches pretty bad. Rt side of neck hurts. Head aches. Back aches. Feet & toes hurt. Hands swollen. Ears ringing intermittently. Calves cramping.  Chest hurts. Rt elbow throbbing.

5.11p-  After 13 months, I think the docs finally found the right med combos to keep my blood pressure within normal levels.
Last bp check was 123/75. Praise the Lord!

Now to work on my other ailments since my lightning strike anomaly. Pressing on through Christ alone.

10:50p- Sharp stabbing pain shooting through forearms to fingers.
