Good morning 🌞
As we celebrate 250 years of American independence, let’s thank God for the freedoms He has graciously given us. While our greatest citizenship is in heaven, God has called us to faithfully serve Him where He has placed us. May we live by His Word, pray for our leaders, and never forget that true freedom begins with the Lord.
Freedom Built on God’s Truth
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16
As America marks 250 years of independence, we have much to celebrate and even more to thank God for. The freedoms we enjoy did not arise by chance. The principles that shaped our nation were deeply influenced by generations of biblical teaching. While the Founding Fathers held differing personal beliefs, many recognized that the moral truths of Scripture were essential to the strength and stability of a free society.
The Declaration of Independence boldly affirms that our rights come from our Creator—not from government. This reflects the biblical truth that every person is created by God and possesses inherent worth and dignity because they bear His image.
Many of our nation’s early leaders acknowledged God’s providence, upheld biblical morality, and emphasized personal accountability before Him. John Adams observed that the Christian faith cultivates the self-control, humility, and justice necessary for a republic to endure. They understood that lasting freedom depends upon a virtuous people, and true virtue is rooted in the eternal truths of God’s Word.
As believers, our highest citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20). Yet God has placed us in this nation for such a time as this. We honor Him by living faithfully, praying for those in authority, standing for truth, and passing on a heritage that acknowledges God’s sovereign hand in the affairs of men.
May we never take our liberties for granted, but instead seek the One from whom every good gift flows. A nation is strongest when its people walk in the truth of God’s Word, for faith shapes freedom, and a people who remember God are richly blessed.
