This health update covers two days brought a mixture of physical pain, uncertainty, and precious reminders of God’s presence. I woke both mornings with pounding headaches and spent much of the time dealing with aching, throbbing pain, exhaustion, and other symptoms. Yet even in the midst of those difficult moments, God continued to remind me that I am not walking through any of this alone. Between Scripture, prayer, serving at church, spending time with family, and even the little things that brought a smile to my face, I saw His goodness woven throughout these days. I still don’t know exactly which path lies ahead, but I am learning to lay my burdens at Jesus’ feet and trust Him to show me the way in His time.
January 21
6:00 woke to a pounding headache.
Song: ♫ At the feet of Jesus, come and lay your burden down ♫
I envision myself prostate at Jesus’ feet bearing my burdens while crying. Laying in all out. I apologize for my doubts and fears and ask Him to help strengthen me and give me wings to fly as eagles. I hear Him say “My child, everything will be okay.” A tear trickles down my left cheek. I feel peace that everything will be okay, but I still don’t know which path to take. I hear “in time you will know. Keep seeing Me.”
The tears are coming a little more freely now. I so wish things were in black and white. But things in life just aren’t so. There are so many variables. How’s a person to know which way to choose?
I open my Bible app to read scripture. It opens to last passage I read y’day – Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Scripture: Galatians 6:7-8; Exodus 10-12; Matthew 1 -4; Exodus 7:5
Our church is hosting a drive thru rabies clinic for the community. Glad we can do this.
It rained today. It wasn’t a total washout though. Dezirae got Bella’s shot today.
It got cold too. Glad I brought my leggings to put on. I’m freezing.
Working on putting up decorations for Dezirae’s birthday party this evening. Took me couple hours to get balloon arch put together. Had to keep taking breaks. Dezirae helped decorate too.
Took a rest in the parsonage. Glad to have a bed to lay down on.
Forgot to bring cookie sheets to cook pizzas on. Asked Holly to bring some to help. Need more cookie sheets at church.
Good turn out. Think they are enjoying themselves. Mom tries to scold me for doing too much. I assure her I’m okay.
January 22
6:30 woke to pounding headache. Whole body stiff and throbbing. Arms ache deeply. Sharp pain in stomach. Nose stuffy. Tired. Pain so great tears leaking from my eyes. Suppose I need to check my blood pressure first.
Scripture: Matthew 7:7-8; Matthew 7-8; Psalm 41
Bright lights bothersome. Need to get up and finish prepping for Junior church. Made salad to go with lunch.
Beginning to feel a bit nauseous. Chew on gum to help. Bones are aching. Sky is overcast and gloomy.
Praise – we have four visitors today. Thank you, Lord.
Didn’t do too hot playing the piano today. I didn’t practice much either. So that’s on me. Messed words up on special music and had trouble with my throat.
I have a terrible taste stuck in my throat – it tastes something like I got a burnt cigarette stuck in my throat. I’ve never even smoked in my life, but cigarettes smell nasty to me. This is awful. Keep drinking water to get rid of it and popping mints in mouth. Haven’t told anyone yet.
Started teaching Junior church today. Invited the teens to join us. Going to start Patch Club by starting in Junior church once a month then let it grow from there.
Taught them Psalms 19:14, which is their memory verse. Teaching them “Little by Little” to sing as a special in church towards end of March. Kindness Challenge: find someone to give a compliment to every day this week. Had to ad-lib a bit because my materials haven’t come yet. Bible Lesson: Jesus and the three R’s (reject, receive, reflect). I think it went well. Had four today.
Leftovers for lunch. I brought a salad to eat as well. We all went to parsonage to eat a while. I fell asleep fairly quickly. Woke to ladybugs crawling on ceiling. I like ladybugs. It’s a sign that God loves me.
Decided to work on spackling the walls in the living room for a bit. Able to get one wall to TV area. Jumped to opposite wall and got down half the hallway. I worked until my arms started burning. Gets me excited about getting closer to finishing goal.
Temperature is dropping and I’m getting colder. Put sweater back on. God has more food donated so I divided it up between families at church. Made sure I made plates for our Vets. Allowed others to pick what they wanted after evening service.
It’s been a good day to be in the house of the Lord. The visitors is the shot in the arm we needed. God please continue to bless. Thank you.
Joe treated us to Zaxby’s for dinner. I’ve been craving buffalo wings. It was delicious and hit the spot. Tried sugar free root beer for first time. It was okay, but not something I’ll drink every day.
Arms are throbbing and aching to bones. Head hurts. Joe applied Vaseline to sutures on scalp. It’s a bit scabby. Have mixed emotions about getting stitches out tomorrow. Not looking forward to the pain, but glad to get them out. Hoping I won’t bleed too much. Nasty taste in mouth – not sure how to describe it. Occasionally feel like popcorn kernel cover is stuck to throat in back middle where I can’t reach. Exhausted. Legs and lower back aches. Ears ringing. Feet tingling and stinging.
Thankful for
1. Visitors in church
2. Junior church went well
3. God’s provisions of food today
4. God’s love in ladybugs.
5. Joe treating us for dinner
