Homemade Ice Cream Cake

Our son’s 21st birthday was earlier this month. I asked him what kind of cake he would like for his birthday. He told me to surprise him. I said okay and immediately decided I’d get a store bought ice cream cake. I remembered that I used to love ice cream cakes.

Upon arriving at the store, I was shocked at the jump in sticker prices. The size cake I would need would cost us $34 and even then it’d have to be small pieces.

I decided to check cost comparison for me to make a simple version myself.  After calculating prices, I determined making it at home would be much more economical.
