DIY Refillable Dawn Power Wash

Since my lightning strike anomaly, I’ve been looking for ways to make it easier to accomplish tasks at home. My son suggested for a while that I try the Dawn Power Wash Spray. At $5 per 16-ounce bottle, I just couldn’t justify purchasing it on a limited budget. However, earlier this year, I came across a rare high-dollar coupon and was able to purchase my first Dawn Power Wash Spray bottle at half price.

I thoroughly enjoyed using it because it made washing the stuck-on food easier. The bottle is easy to handle and I can pull the spray trigger without too much effort. It definitely made washing dishes much easier.

My daughter recently sent me a reel about making your own homemade power wash, and I had to try it. The reel played too fast for my brain to comprehend the ingredients, even after replaying it multiple times. My first batch was too watery and didn’t work as well as the first use so I’ve adapted the recipe for my liking.

DIY Refillable Dawn Power Wash

Total cost (.45¢)

Ingredients:

12 oz water ($0)

4 TBS (2 oz) Dawn dish soap (.36¢)

2 TBS (1 oz) Rubbing alcohol (.09¢)

Directions:

  1. Fill a mason jar or measuring cup with 12 ounces of water.
  2. Add the dish soap and rubbing alcohol. Stir well.
  3. Pour into your power wash spray bottle. Enjoy!

Notes:

  • You can use purified or distilled water instead of tap water. As some claim that regular tap water leaves a residue when cleaning.
  • It can be used for multiple other household cleaning tasks such as counter tops, microwave, showers, bathtubs, grills, preset stains, etc.

This is definitely an affordable game changer!  Please let me know how the DIY Refillable homemade power wash recipe turns out for you.
