4.45 woke thinking I overslept. Muscles twitching randomly through body. Nerves stinging. Muscles stiff and throbbing. Center of chest throbbing with periodic sharp stabbing pain. Headache.
Song: ♫His Eye Is On the Sparrow♫
Isaiah 53:3-4; Judges 1-2; Hebrews 13:5
Right eye twitching bad enough it’s affecting my vision. Place heel of palm over eye for moment which seems to help momentarily. Sinuses acting up. Pollen was thick outside yesterday. I hurt something fierce.
Wearing the harmoni necklace my mom gave me to help keep nerves calm.

Arrive at hospital around 6:30. Checking in is for the birds. Have to pre check in up front in order to have paperwork to check in at breast center. Difficulty checking with tablet. Some of info has to be corrected. Once directed to outpatient diagnostics, no one at counter. Nurse finally showed up 5 minutes later and informed me that they don’t open until 7am. I informed her that my appointment was at 7am. She took my paperwork. We shall see.
Potential for severe weather tonight. High winds begin around noon. Heavy rains and severe weather potential beginning at 6pm.
7:38 I was supposed to bring list of medicines I take but didn’t see it or remember being told.
7:42 taken to room for procedure to begin. Bp 124/84
Able to talk about lightning strike with nurses and Dr. Told them that recovery has been slow and interesting. Able to tell them about the lightning strike and electric shock survivors support group on Facebook. They said that was good to know. One nurse said a relative of hers was struck by lightning and was a vegetable until he died. She said she was glad that I survived and able to talk about it. She said a lot of my symptoms mimicked stroke symptoms.
Two biopsys – one of cyst and one of lymph node. Dr had to do multiple shots of lidocaine because I could still feel the needle. It hurt! One time it hurt so bad I flinched. Dr surprised I could still feel it. I think I ended up with about 6 shots total.
Nurses kept asking if I was nervous. Told them no because I had one done 5 years ago on other side. They said oh. One nurse looked like she was nervous so I kept reassuring her that she was doing fine and everything would be okay. I kept cracking jokes with the Dr.
Dr thanked me for having a pleasant disposition and apologized for torturing me. I told him all was good.
8:24 Lft arm and shoulder hurts from holding oner head for so long. A bit dizzy. Feet are freezing. Bp 121/81 hr 69. Should get a phone call with results by tomorrow afternoon.
Took me a bit to get dressed. Kept having to catch myself on the wall. Not sure why I’m so unstable momentarily. Had to ask Joe to come meet me because I was concerned I was going to fall.
Once home, Joe cooked me breakfast. Made couple phone calls. Took morning meds plus 800mg ibuprofen.
9:45a Getting very sleepy. Going to take a nap. Headache. Not feeling well.

Friend shared an article on aphasia
12:30 just received phone call with preliminary results of the biopsy. I have breast cancer. Let that sink in for a while. I know God is allowing this for a reason and He will be with me every set of the way. I know will have a meltdown and that’s okay. I am determined to give God the praise throughout this process. It certainly would explain why my white blood count has been high above normal for a year or so.

12:38 called Joe. His boss told him to come home to be with me.
We’ve been on the phone most of afternoon asking family and friends to pray.
A friend offered to come clean my house, go for a walk, or just sit and say nothing if I needed it. My sweet dear friend.
I’m already trying to research how to fight great cancer naturally.

Once kids got home, we had family meeting to let them know. Rae broke down crying. We gathered in circle in living room and prayed.
4:40 My Aunt Annabelle shared scripture with me for encouragement. That means a lot.
Psalms 50:14-15 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
Had to call for service on our A/C bcuz it wasn’t working A/C guy gave us a diaci on what was needed. AC now working. Thank you Lord.
I have a major headache, but cannot take anything that has aspirin in it for few days because of the biopsy. Took 800mg ibuprofen and applying ice pack to forehead while lying down a moment. We will share news with church family tonight.
Before leaving for church, received email from insurance adjuster regarding auto accident. Police report doesn’t say anything about tail lights not working, but they have not been able to get in contact with the other driver so they are closing the case for now. Praying it stays that way. Thank you, Lord.
Joe did service completely different tonight. A little more informal because we wanted to share the heart breaking news with our church family. Initially I think they were shocked that we were actually at church tonight. We did so to drive a point home that we’ve been trying to teach them the past few years. When trial come our way, the natural tendency is to get upset and withdraw. But that’s when you need your church family the most to rally around each other, encourage them, and lift them up in prayer. We will only become stronger as we draw closer to the Lord and together in prayer.
I’m exhausted and have not had my full on meltdown yet. Tears have leaked periodically since hearing the news. Been busy this afternoon requesting people around the world to pray.
I still need to finish studying out my scripture journal calendar for April. I have the main thought – types of prayer – but nothing definitive yet.
Head hurts. I’m exhausted. Body aches. Nerves sting. Incisions are still quite sore, but received relief when Joe removed the gauge pads because they were hurting my underarm. Joe says I had an allergic reaction to the sticky tape. Figures. Low back throbbing. Muscles in rt side neck cramped. Feet cold.
Thankful for…
- My family
- Praying friends all over the world
- A/C guy gave us discount on service today.
It’s amazing how many people have told Joe or myself today that we’ve been on their hearts and have already been praying for us. I love, love, love how God is already working before our trials knock on the door. Looking forward to seeing how else He’s going to work along the way.
