Following Christ

1 Peter 2:21 – For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Ernest Blandly, a British minister, moved to the USA with his wife in 1884. He became an officer in the Salvation Army and later felt called to minister to the Manhattan slum called “Hell’s Kitchen” in 1890 to reach those people for Christ, which required great sacrifice. He later wrote the hymn “Where He Leads Me I Will Follow.”

Oftentimes in ministry, the path God calls us to walk is not easy. It’s filled with heartache, personal sacrifices, and trials. Jesus’ journey to the Cross to be the propitiation for our sin was a very painful one. The cost was high, but worth it. We must determine to follow Jesus no matter what obstacles come our way. There are souls that need rescuing, and we must be the light to draw them to Jesus.

Praying you have a Stupendous Sunday on purpose. 🙏
