August 25 – Morning Struggles
6:00 AM
Rough night. During the night, I was woken by severe pain in my right side. I tried to sit up but got hit in the face by Joe’s elbow. I hollered, yet Joe never woke.
Outer covers of my eyes sting. Headache. Dry mouth. Sour taste in mouth. Thirsty. Cold. Whole body stiff and achy. Heart pounding hard. Low back and right hip ache. Feet throbbing and tingling. Trouble holding my phone. Back of neck hurts.
Hymns on my mind: Rock of Ages and Middle of My Storm
Scripture: Psalm 119:165; Lamentations 3:37–5; 2 Corinthians 1:3–4
I put rice and chicken in the crockpot for dinner. While taking boxes of donations (one at a time), it started thundering — like a lightning strike outside. I just wanted to run and hide, but I knew I had to finish before the guys came to pick them up. I asked Jordon for help because I couldn’t carry the end table. Muscles in my legs were spasming, and I was exhausted.
Later, I received word that the road in front of the church was flooded and the power was out due to the severe storm. Joe had to leave work to check, so I went to get Dezirae from school for safety.
Once home, we ate lunch. Suddenly, I felt like I was going to pass out. Dezirae asked for help with English homework. I told her I’d help from bed since I needed to lie down. After helping her with one section, I crashed and slept for over an hour. My body hurt fiercely, and I just wanted to cry.

Prayer: Lord, please blow the storms away. I hurt so much. Extreme pain all over. It’s hard to move or lie still. Moderate indigestion. Took Rx. Ate yogurt.
Thankful for:
-
Able to encourage others even through my pain
-
A roof over my head
-
Food to eat
August 26 – Morning Struggles
5:30 AM
It’s too early. I hurt everywhere, but not as badly as last night. Woke in the middle of the night with severe stomach pain. Headache. Eyes watery.
5:45 AM
I needed to help Dez study for four quizzes and tests today. Although she’s not as prepared this year, I tried my best to guide her. Drinking peppermint tea helped a little.
Scripture: Romans 12:4–5; Galatians 2:20
7:45 AM
Hurting and exhausted. Studying gives me a bad headache. I’m out of PEA supplement and don’t have the funds to get more, so I had to take a 90-minute nap.
Scripture Reading: Ezekiel 1–4
Realized I’ve lost so much weight that my favorite shorts fall off — 90% of my clothes too. Although I don’t have funds for a new wardrobe, I reminded myself to be thankful.
Lots to do today: help Jordon pack, make cake, prepare potatoes in the crockpot, find a fried chicken recipe, send pictures to the printer, and work on Sunday’s bulletin.
Nerves stinging throughout body. Headache easing somewhat.
Dinner: Went well. Everyone enjoyed it. Chicken tasted bland to me, but it was nice to see them happy. Surprised Joe with wireless earbuds. Exhausted by the end of the day.
Jordon mostly packed. Only a few essentials left for the morning. Forgot Joe’s haircut, so I’ll have to do it tomorrow. Last night before Jordon goes off to college — feeling sad, yet trying to comfort myself that he won’t be too far.
Whole body aches. Hands and wrists throbbing. Feet cold and tingling. Low back throbbing. Legs ache. Bellybutton red again. Treating with colloidal silver twice daily. The more I relax, the more I hurt.
Thankful for:
-
Celebrated Joe’s birthday with Jordon still home
-
Had energy to get things accomplished
-
Encouraged friends today; amazed at how much of a difference just 1/4 tsp of Moringa Leaf powder makes
