Walking Through Faith in Challenging Days
September 24-26, 2022
Walking through faith during extreme trials means learning to carry physical weakness while clinging to spiritual truth. These entries reflect a few days in September 2022, capturing the balance between pain, fatigue, family life, and trusting God throughout it all.

5:30 it’s curious to me that all the activities I did yesterday for a well person would have no issues the next morning, but I hurt immensely all over like I did a hard work out. Headache, sinus pressure, runny nose, body stiff and throbbing all over. Need to locate my eo immune roller and use it the next few days to keep my immunity up. Joe graciously rubbed my arms and back for a while. It helps my muscles relax some. I play wholetones music under my pillow to see if that’ll help as well.
6:30 time to read my Bible then need to get up and get ready.
Scripture Reflection: Hebrews 10:35-36; Esther 1-5; Proverbs 29:25
Enjoyed the Ladies Conference today. Glad I wore a sweater and brought socks because I got really cold. Dezirae made me giggle. She was helping RH with her booth this year. I don’t have signal inside LBA so she couldn’t get in contact with me via text or vice versa. I wondered how she would find me in auditorium. As she was sitting down, she whispered I found you by looking for your turban. Lol. I was the only lady wearing a hat of any kind. I started to wear down about halfway through. Caught myself drifting a couple times so I managed to shift positions every so often. Took notes best I could. Things the speakers touched on I’ve come across in my devotional time this past week. Had a good chat with Rebecca after services while she was packing up. I thoroughly enjoyed it. She was very grateful for Dezirae’s help.
Once home, told Joe about conference. Then had to take nap to have energy for dinner.
We celebrated my birthday tonight. I enjoyed it. Finished bulletins before 9pm. Glad I did most of work earlier in week. Exhausted and wore out.
Thankful for 1. Ability to attend conference 2. Praying friends 3. God’s providence

Song on mind: ♫Wherever You Are♫
Exhausted and hurting all over. Dry mouth and thirsty.
Scripture: 1 John 2:1; Esther 6-10
Having trouble keeping my eyes open. Decided to snooze a little longer.
Reni got her hair cut. She told Dezirae and her mom that she looks like Mrs. Melissa now. I got a kick out of it and went to ask her what she said. She got embarrassed. I asked her if she looked like me now, and she said yes. Then I asked if she was trying to be my twin. With a big grin, she shook her head and said yes. I gave her a big hug. After church, I had Dezirae take our picture.

1:00 I’m about to pass out. Need to take a nap. Left eye watering heavily.
Alarm went off at 2:30. Joe even tried to wake me. I got up to use restroom and laid back down. I just didn’t have the energy to push. Rested for good 40 minutes longer.
Sorted through mail. Burned papers. Worked on cleaning up in SS bldg a little. Pulled few weeds. I’m exhausted and need to rest before service.
Jordon preached evening service. Did great job. I got to sit next to Joe – that’s a rare occasion during church these days.
Joe cooked dinner. Had to ask for help to get up out of recliner to go to bed. I hurt immensely all over.
It’s been a blessed weekend. I knew I’d probably hurt afterwards, but I thoroughly enjoyed being able to attend the Ladies Conference and celebrating my birthday with my family.

4:00 woken by pain. Nose stuffy. Mouth dry and thirsty. Mind racing.
Scripture: Hebrews 10:30-31; Ezra 7-9; Psalm 33:4
Cleaned dryer vent, washed 2 loads clothes, cleaned Dezirae’s room for company, went to airport to pick up PKG for a friend, stopped at grocery store on way home to pick up few items.
Friends from out of town arrived. Enjoyed the visit. They took us to dinner. Once back home, bundled up because I got cold. Ended up dozing off several times in recliner.
