Two Journeys, One Heart: Health Update

Walking Through Faith in Challenging Days
October 13-15, 2022

Walking through faith during extreme trials means learning to carry physical weakness while clinging to spiritual truth. These entries reflect a few days in October 2022, capturing the balance between pain, fatigue, family life, and trusting God throughout it all.

October 13

6:00 having hard time waking. I’m so tired. Eyes burning. Slight headache. Bones ache deeply.

Song: ♫ At Calvary ♫

Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11; Matthew 12:22-50; Luke 11 .

It’s thundering!  I hope it doesn’t last long. Help Dezirae make final preps for her presentation today. Put pork roast in crockpots for dinner. Feed cat. Make peppermint tea. Taking a nap. Playing wholetones music.

Slept for hour and a half. I’m just dragging today and not feeling well.

Pork cooked, shredded, and prepped for dinner. Coleslaw made. Things laid out to take to church tonight. Vacuumed living room and hallway. Washed load of clothes.

Called school and asked for Dezirae to come home a little early to help me. Called Dr Beakley to ask about cysts as Dr Meadows suggested. Referred to a dermatologist.

3:00 I’m exhausted. Eyes watery. Need to rest a bit.

4:00 out the door for church. Need to cook the tots at church for dinner. Forgot my keys. Had to ask Edith to open church. Had enough leftovers to make our Vets plates. Received food donations. Heather and Kayla helped me divide food up in between our church people. Made sure we have food to Pastor Carr’s family as well.

One blessing today: I’ve thoroughly been enjoying being able to sing during song service instead of playing piano.

October 14

5:00 for quick moment when alarm sounded I forgot what day it was thinking Joe overslept called his name to wake him then realized oh it’s Friday. Then said nevermind. I’m exhausted. Hit snooze a couple times before getting up. Need to help Dezirae study for an exam. Starting to get the sniffles. Head hurts. Eyes watery.

Scripture: Romans 12:2; Matthew 13; Psalm 73:25-26

Back to bed. I just cannot push. Slept until 8:00 . Oil of Oregano

13:00 Mom told me about the Naturopathic Doctor suggesting that my niece drink parsley tea to help combat anemia.

October 15

7:30 been awake since about 3am due to severe diarrhea. I think I just lost all the weight I gained. Lol. Eyes crusty, watery, and burn. Sour burps. Chewed three papaya enzymes. Vaginal burning. Tired. Arms hurt and burn as if I worked out.

Song: I have a tune playing in my mind, but I cannot remember words or the title

Scripture: 2 Samuel 7:22; Luke 8; Matthew 8:14-34

Joe told me to stay home and rest today. I was glad bc I’m not in any shape to do much of anything today. My stomach is tore up and I’m starting to not feel well.

Fell back asleep after Joe and Dezirae left for church. Slept until 11am. Groggy when I woke, but forced myself to get up because I needed to at least drink fluids.

Lack energy. Feel like I’ve been beaten up. Couch potato most of day. Remember that I need a dessert for Jordon’s birthday lunch tomorrow. I have no energy or strength to make one so I need to get few items at store. Ask Holly if someone can go with me. Holly offers to take me. Got Joe some English muffins and Reese’s pieces as an I love you.

Got wore out half way through shopping. Had to catch my breath. Really out of breath by time I got to car. Holly helped me load groceries into trunk. I’m wiped out.

Once home, Holly helped me get groceries in house. Told her I would put them away in little bit. Put cold stuff away. Rested for a while then put most of others away.

Around 6:00pm forced myself to get bulletin done. It hurts to lift my arms. Left eye starting to hurt again. It looks a bit swollen. Not sure if it’s from allergies or what. Indigestion bothersome.

9:30 I’m done and going to bed. I’ll print bulletins in morning. Will wash up then too. I’m afraid of falling in shower if I try tonight.

Symptoms:

Headache, chemo brain, eyes watery, whole body throbbing as if I’ve been beaten up, nerves in legs from chins down to feet burning and stinging, low back aches, lft eye a little swollen, exhausted, stomach hurts, hungry for few hours today, tastes buds off, odd sour taste in mouth, tired, lethargic, diarrhea most of day, hands throbbing and tingling

Thankful

  1. Able to rest today in a quiet house
  2. Joe and Dezirae git to go hunting today – quality father/daughter time
  3. My home
