Courage in God’s Presence
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua 1:9
Joshua succeeded Moses as Israel’s leader, stepping into a role filled with great responsibility. God’s command to him was clear: to be successful, he must be brave and strong, faithfully obey God’s Law, and continually immerse himself in God’s Word.
For us today, uncertainty and challenges can feel overwhelming. Yet, the principle remains the same: obedience to what God has revealed in Scripture is our surest path forward. When we take the time to study the Word, meditate on its truths, and follow its guidance, we anchor ourselves in the presence of God.
Remember, God’s promise to Joshua is the same for you: He is with you wherever you go. Courage is not the absence of fear, but the confident trust that God walks with us through every trial. Resolve to read, meditate, and obey His Word daily, and allow His strength to empower your steps.
This week’s challenge:
This week, choose one area of your life where fear or hesitation has been holding you back—big or small. Each day, take a concrete step forward while intentionally relying on God.
