Good morning! π
I trust you had an amazing Valentineβs weekend celebrating the loves in your lifeβwhether thatβs a spouse, family, or friends. Letβs make this week a wonderful and productive week on purpose!
Anchored in Christ
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Colossians 2:8
Paulβs warning is as relevant today as ever. Voices around us constantly compete for our attentionβideas that sound wise, trends that feel urgent, and beliefs that promise fulfillment. Yet not every persuasive thought is rooted in truth. Some subtly pull our hearts away from the simplicity and sufficiency of Christ.
To be βspoiledβ here means to be carried off like plunder. The danger is not always open rebellion against God, but quiet distractionβallowing human reasoning, cultural pressures, or popular opinions to shape our values more than Godβs Word.
Christ is not merely one influence among many; He is the foundation. When we stay anchored in Himβthrough Scripture, prayer, and discernmentβwe gain clarity. We learn to measure every teaching, every trend, and every inner voice against His truth.
Today, guard your heart. Let Christ be the lens through which you view the world, not the world the lens through which you view Christ.
Prayer:
Lord, keep me grounded in You. Help me recognize what is empty and cling to what is true. Guard my mind from deception and anchor my heart firmly in Christ. Amen.
Weekly Challenge
This week, commit to spending 5β10 minutes each day in focused Scripture reading or prayer, asking God to reveal anything in your thoughts or habits that may be pulling you away from Him. Write down one insight each day and one small action you can take to stay anchored in Christ.
