Lightning Strikes – 4-6 August 2020

Aug 4

Pretty good day I think.

Took Joe to work so I could have car. Needed to take Jordon to get khaki shorts for work. Also, sitting with elderly friend for few hours before picking up Joe from work. Able to get onions in dehydrator. Got 3 life jackets done. Found Joe a new to him suit for $25.

Accidentally learned how to brighten my whites. Attempted to wash whites in oxiclean (Biz something or other) but ended up soaking them for couple hours bc washer is acting up. Washer finally cycled through. When I was finally able to fold for putting away I was amazed at how clean and bright they were!

Remembered random memory from before meeting husband about a guy on his wedding day asking if he’d ever have a chance with me. I told him no. He said he had to know. I have no clue why that even popped in my head. I can remember where I was standing and that it made me feel very awkward. I definitely wasn’t going to be the reason the wedding would be called off. No siree!

Headache. Sensitive to bright lights. Took 2 hr nap this morning. Rt ear ringing loud for 20 mins this afternon. Hands swollen. Neck hurts. Upper shoulders & back burning throbbing minor stinging. Low back hurts. Rt hip throbbing like toothache. Legs ache. Feet hurt & tingling. Ankles tingling needles throbbing. Skin itchy.

 

Aug 5

Turned too far right and rt side cramped up making it difficult to move. Had to stop and be still for several minutes to get it to ease.

Sharp stabbing pain in lower lft abdomen. Exhausted.

228 I’m plumb exhausted. Need a nap.

Kids are frustrating me.

530 Joe gave me kiss on forehead and I felt like I was running fever. Took my temp. It’s low grade 99. He was kind and cooked dinner for me too.

All the noise in the house right now is overloading my brain on top of me being frustrated. Jordon taking food handler class online. Washer going. Jakob on phone with his girlfriend. Music from I don’t remember where. Everything is crashing in on me. Joe steps in and calms the noises for me.

630 I’m feeling drained and wiped out.

Scraped my knee and don’t know how. I do know how I got the bruises on same knee.

7:00 going to bed. I’m done functioning for today. Need to unplug and recharge.

920 still wide awake but laying in bed. Whole body throbbing. Random sharp pain in lower left abdomen causes me to double over. Don’t know why but just know it hurts.

Rt hip throbbing. Headache. Hands smell of onions. Feet throbbing, tingling. Lower lft leg tourniquet tightening feeling. Low back throbs. Eyes crusty & heavy. Lft knee sharp stabbing pain. Hands throbbing. Calves tight and burn like did extensive workout but I haven’t. Need to walk in neighborhood. Thirsty. Neck hurts. Center of chest rt side hurts.

937 just discovered I didn’t take my morning meds. Night meds taken. Naproxen. Sleepy time lotion. Lavender oil diffusing. Immune blend eo applied to bottoms of feet.

 

Aug 6

Very strange dream that makes no sense, rhyme or reason to where it came from or why.

700a in much pain all over. Did too much yday. Headache. Throbbing from head to toes. Tired.

Planned on working on blog today but that didn’t happen. Too many things to do and not enough time. Need to learn to write lists more frequently so I can keep up and feel accomplished (or at least remember what I did. Lol).

Cheddar Bay biscuits flopped and got squished. Chicken Zucchini casserole was bland and squishy/soupy. Need to tweak it next time and only bake not slow cook it. Ugh. Joe asked me to type something up for him for church tonight and I messed that up too.

700p note to self…don’t try to balance checkbook on a church day. Brain gets too foggy afterwards. Makes it extra difficult to focus.

720 tried the earbud suggestion while playing piano. Took bit of getting used. Think it helped.

Woah! Took earbud out of rt ear when I got to my seat. Flood of noises rushed to my ear. Fan blowing across room sounded like hurricane winds. Child chewing on something.

Lightning Strikes Memoirs 1-3 August 2020

August 1

Woke from nightmare in much pain. Joe massaged back. Felt good.

Joe says rr hip is quite swollen.

Jordon made breakfast.

Graduation party at church. Went well.

Celebrate Jordon getting job with pizza chips and movie.

Sleepy. Whole body hurts. Headache. Hands swollen & throbbing sting. Low back throbbing stinging. Skin itchy & sensitive. St hip throbbing something aweful unable to get comfortable. Sinus congestion. Feet ache. Random sharp stabbing pain thru body making me jolt. Neck popped loud this afternoon. Neck hurts more now. Lower let leg tourniquet tightening feeling with stinging needle pain from just above knee to foot.

 

Aug 2

Woke in much pain. Feel like my back is broke. Hurts to m p ‘ve. Feel like I slept hard but I’m still tired. Skin sensitive. Hand and wrists throbbing.

1126 middle of back stinging. Neck pops when I move it. Neck now hurting. Pain shooting to extremities from back center. 2 hour nap. Pain woke me up.

615 Joe tells me while playing piano that my face is beat red. Head is pounding. Face feels hot. Brain blurring.

Need to teach people to be quiet during offertory. Attempted new song tonight but between all the extra noises and brain blurring I had extreme difficulty staying concentrated and focusing. Messed up horribly. Only played one stanza but I got frustrated and gave up.

Two sweeties decide to sit with me tonight. I’m not prepared…haven’t replaced mini color sheets…improvise and give them blank graph paper. They’re content. Whew.

800p expressed my frustration to Joe on way home. Said he’ll make announcement bc it’s a teaching opportunity. Also suggested I try wearing ear buds to block sound in at least my rt ear so I don’t hear the noises especially since I have extra sensitive hearing now. Told him I’d wear my black ones to make it obvious. Lol.

1045p in so much pain from head to toes. St hip screaming. Exhausted. Muscles randomly spasming thru body. Hope to fall asleep soon.

 

Aug 3

Rough night. Did not sleep well. Whole body hurts. Headache. Collar bone lft side throbbing. Ears hurt. Lights hurts eyes deeply.

645a collar bone lft side throbbing. Stinging sensation thru body. Hands severely swollen. Headache. Feet throbbing. St hip aches. Torso aches. Going to rest eyes little while to see if it’ll help. Applying pain rub to back of neck.

1035p visiting with friends went well. Made it in time to pick Joe up from work. Came home to make dinner. Rae helped. Joe did too.

Back throbbing. Body hurts. Exhausted.

Took Epsom salt bubble bath. Felt so good.

Whole body hurts. Tummy very bloated.

Lightning Strikes Memoirs – 30-31 July 2020

July 30

Woke with a little energy. Decided to tackle finishing up planning school work for upcoming year. Discovered I don’t even have all the books yet. Asked God for help. Gotta get on top of this. I’m so way behind. School is suppose to start in 3 weeks.

It takes me all day just to figure out English for Jordon. I don’t have all his books. Find them one used books site but having difficulty adding book to cart. Call place. Lady takes order over phone & gives me free shipping for letting her know. Yay for me!

Joe text saying he got call that missionary will be with us tonight. Only showing slides & presenting ministry. I assume it’s just a man. Mission house not ready. Joe told him so. He has place to stay. Whew!

300p time to get ready for church. My brain is swirling and pounding from concentrating and trying to figure school out. Tired and need a nap. Oops. Forgot to take morning meds. Maybe b12 will help.

Stuck in brain that I need to go to store but I can’t remember what ever for. Forgot stupid masks so can’t go to store. 1/2 way to church I remembered I really needed to go to Dr office to pick up my Gerd rx. Don’t have mask can’t go there either. Ugh! Will have to go tomorrow.

Received call that Lawana ended up at ER last night. I was asked to bring her lunches for next couple of days. Also, think about us sitting with her couple hours every other day or so. Said I’d have to check with Joe. I don’t mind but with school starting and only one working vehicle I’m not sure how it’ll work. God I need You to supply a vehicle soon.

3/4 way to church I realize I forgot to pack bread for the sandwiches. Ugh. Ask to stop at store near church. Grab loaf of bread. Now to figure out what to use hoagie rolls for.

Once at church, discover one of a/C units quit working. Let Joe know. He calls a/C guy. Will come out tomorrow. In meantime get fans going and window units in fellowship hall blowing.

We have 28 in church tonight. PtL! 9 visitors with 3 of them being return visitors. Yay! Dezirae & I in nursery tonight.

On way home, Joe let me know that the buddy he asked for the eo pain roller for said thank you and he really appreciated it. It was working good for him.

Pain was about a 5 most of day. Indigestion. Headache. Skin itchy & sensitive (hair feels like needles poking me when it touches my skin). Brain foggy after trying to focus on school plans. Never really stayed focus on one thing kept jumping to other things when I thought of them jumped to do them too. (Filter water, straighten house, put random things where they belong, unpack some more, put clothes awsy, ice, sweet tea – started but had Rae finish making it). Low back throbbing. Lower lft leg slight tourniquet tight9 feeling. Toes tingly. Sinus congestion. Lips parched. Didn’t drink enough fluids today. I can feel it.

July 31

800 A/C guy called asking to meet us at church. Yay! I go to take down bulletin board. Have no clue what putting up next but I like to keep them guessing.

Tripped over Joe’s shoes in closet and hit my knee against crate. Instant bruise

900 found I walk better bare foot. In some strange fashion it helps me keep my balance better.

Lightning Strikes Memoirs – 27-29 July 2020

July 27

800a woke in much pain. Feel like I tried to compete in a 5k race or triathlon and hurt myself. Calves are throbbing intensely. Hurts to move. Just need a little more rest.

900 Need to get moving. Read Kings 16-20. Hezekiah asks for healing & a sign that God will answer him. My Lord knows the way thru the wilderness. All I have to do is believe and follow.

1050 washer giving me fits. It doesn’t want to stay going. Have to keep prodding it to keep going. Taking almost 2 hours for 1st load. Ugh!

I’m exhausted already. Need to rest. Have lots to do but it’ll be at a snail’s pace. Mins wants to go fast but body is refusing

730 I’m exhausted and hurting all over but not as bad as yday. Read Psalm 87-89.

800 got up. Realized our house looks like hurricane hit it. Tongue hurts more than my body.

1000 trip to store to get meat and few items for house. Wore me out. Lethargic. Raining off and on all day.

1115 tongue pain made it difficult to eat today. Indigestion. Ate a ginger chew. Timmy hurts plus cycle pain as well. Overall pain was a 6/7 today. Back to swishing with mom & liquid Benadryl to ease tongue pain. It feels like I bit a large chunk out of the lft side but instead there’s a large sore that hurts to touch.

Whole body throbbing. Headache. Tired. Lower lft leg tourniquet tightening feeling.

July 29

530 whole body throbbing. Joe rubbing back feels so good.

630 I so miss having my own car. Took Joe to work to have car today. My leg throbbing and spasming from driving home (first time in over a week). Feet freezing making my whole body cold. Need socks. Back in bed under all the covers to warm up. Headache intensifying.

800 didn’t mean to sleep that long. Thought I only hit snooze couple of times must have accidentally hit off. Headache eased and I’m warmed up.

Dezirae & I to help at Lawana’s today. Not sure what I’ll be able to do…no energy

830 going to bed early. Trouble keeping eyes open. Need to get more B complex vitamins. They help my energy source.

920 Joe asked for the sleepy time diffuser blend. Also gave him some sleepy lotion.

Night meds taken (out of tumeric). Making a list. Took naproxen for pain. I’m so over being in pain all the time, but we figured I’d be down several days after vacation.

July 25

650 low back throbbing, exhausted, tummy hurts, body stiff and achy, back is throbbing. Sinuses congested. Slight headache. Horrible indigestion. I’m over the indigestion.

943 pit stop at Chattahoochee National Forest – mini haha & the gorge – Tallulah waterfalls

130 I made it thru the trails suspension bridge and all. I was stuck in middle of suspension bridge for a bit…as I was trying to take photo a group started walking across and one of their girls thought it’d be funny to shake the bridge. I almost dropped my phone over the ledge. Thankfully I caught it against my chest. My legs began wobbling like jelly and I froze afraid to fall. Jordon came back to help me across rest of way. Made it to bench and had to sit a while.  Oh the sights are gorgeous!

Half way up the other side I was trying to psych my brain out that I wasn’t hearing thunder in the distant but Joe threw that out into the water by asking me if I heard the thunder. Ugh! Nerves immediately started tingling. Told him to change subject it’s like a PTSD effect or something I have to work thru.

Laying down to rest before the birthday party tonight. Thundering now even makes my nerves tingle and cringe in fear. Heart racing, out of breath. That’s the most steps I climbed in over 3 years. Huge accomplishment.

Lightning flashed close by and I shrivel in fear and want to cry. I’m so tired. Need to rest a piece.

July 26

Woke sometime in middle of night. Had trouble going back to sleep so I decided to pray. Prayed for a while before falling back to sleep.

Woke back up around 5pm.  My legs are throbbing! My entire body stings. Had to have help down the stairs bc I almost fell. Legs wobbling like jelly and giving out. Tushy throbs. Hands throbbing. Headache minimal.

1035 made it home safely. Enjoyed our vacation even though I’m in extreme pain now. Night meds taken, sleepy time lotion applied to legs and hands. Naproxen taken.

Headache & my whole body is intensely throbbing. Sweet dreams. I’ll deal with washing clothes and unpacking tomorrow. Kids can help too. Tongue tingly. Rt ear Rand for few minutes once back in mobile county.

Lightning Strikes Memoirs – 23-24 July 2020

July 23

900 decided to check out Gatlinberg today. Candy Kitchen. Watched them use old fashion machine to make taffy.  Gem Mine. Strolled little town checking out different attractions and shops.

230 Aquarium couldn’t handle the automatic sidewalk caused my nerves to spidey tingle and get a little dizzy.

430 having trouble finding the ginger chews. No one knows about them either. Strange. Checked stores from Sevierville to Gatlinburg.

Thunderstorms off and on thru area today but God kept the thunder & lightning away from us.

Dinner at a Hidden Restaurant. Played in arcade for little bit. Swam in lazy River for almost hour. Back in room around 8:30p. I’m exhausted and hurting.

July 24

530 woke from nightmare to sound of dripping from rain then distance thunder. Get up to use restroom my whole body throbbing.

800 I hurt all over and feel like I’ve been beat up. Don’t want to get up. Nauceous. Took ginger, no rx, migraine rx, & Tylenol sinus. Meeting a Pastor’s family for lunch.

1115 calves are throbbing.

130 meeting Berge family for lunch at Cheddars.

230 decided to let kids go play at arcade (laser tag, mini golf, ) while us adults went over to TGIF for dessert. They’re basically doing what we’re doing – revitalizing a church.

500 bloody nose. Haven’t had one of them in while. Felt it oncoming. Got weak all a sudden like the strength being drained from me. Then gush. Pinched nose for two minutes.

813 overnight pit stop in Clarksville, GA. Burges are feeding us breakfast for dinner.

1038 I’m exhausted and hurting head to toe. Head hurts. Neck aches. Sinus congested. Low back throbbing. Feet throbbing and cold. Took naproxen. Tummy hurts

634 woke to sound of glass breaking or ice bucket being dumped. Arms and upper body hurt. Tummy muscles randomly spasming.

800 I’m exhausted and sleepy. Both arms numb and tingly.

Decided to check out Cades Cove this morning. However, the road is closed to motor vehicles on Wednesday. Very surprised at all the people doing the same.

Thankful for the wheelchair to help when necessary. Chose to see how far we could walk. Multiple stops but we’ll worth the scenery.

At late lunch/early dinner at Golden Coral on way back to hotel. It was kind of weird not being able to touch utensils to serve self. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Resting a while before next activity. I’6 in soooo much pain. Using heating pad on mid & lock back right now to ease the cramping.

Church at Freedom Baptist. Heavy traffic caused us to arrive 10 minutes late. Song service must have already done. Taking prayer requests when we came in. Strange seeing people with face masks inside. This covid junk is throwing everything off. Sad to see even Christians living in fear. They wouldn’t even shake our hands. Some came to say hi and glad we came but kept their distance. Makes me miss our church back home. Hugs are important too.

Back at hotel Joe took me on stroll to find himself a cup of coffee. Treated me to sweet tea and piece of cheesecake. Sweet.

Whole body hurts. Center of chest throbbing. Rt eye hurts. Feet freezing. Bad headache. Hands throbbing & stinging. Skin hypersensitive. Eyes watery. Tummy feels bloated. Rt hip hurts. Feet tingly throbbing. Tummy hurts. Back throbbing and cramping. Praying I’ll sleep good for little while anyways.
