I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. Genesis 9:13-15
Did you know that God made a covenant with you before you were born?
I think rainbows are a beautiful phenomenon. They are a symbol of the promise of God to Noah and every living creature of all flesh that God would never flood the earth again. “All flesh” that is to all generations. Wow!
God pointed Noah to the rainbow as a reminder to all generations that He alone was responsible for carrying out the terms of the covenant (12-17). When God sees the rainbow, it reminds Him of His promise, and when we see the rainbow, it reminds us of God’s grace, love, and mercy.
I am thankful for God’s promises to me!
