God’s Power, Presence, Promise and Peace – MaryBeth Siegwart

There is nothing better for refreshing my soul, uplifting my hurting heart, or encouraging my spirit than being in God’s amazing creation! God definitely meets me at these special moments. Because of this, on the anniversary of my husband’s home going, I always plan an outdoor adventure. Along with that, I send up a balloon with a tract attached to it. My husband was a passionate soulwinner and it is a way to honor this important part of his life. I enjoy picking a pretty spot and then spending time praying God directs it to someone who needs Christ’s salvation. (We put together a special tract after his homegoing, YouTube: The airplane crash that could save your life). On one of these special occasions I had hiked to a beautiful fall. It was in January so it was icy, snowy and gorgeous! The sky accented with a brilliant blue. It was a wonderful time of communing with our awesome God. As I left this peaceful place I drove down a desolate country road. I noticed a bald eagle flying beside me (I love to watch a bald eagle soar). I slowed to take a better look, he slowed…, I sped up, he did likewise…then I stopped right in the middle of the road! The eagle flew to a nearby tree and faced me! God sure showed His presence in a mighty way that day! He has done this over and over for me since becoming a widow.

His power, presence, promises and wondrous peace are amazing! When I see and experience His power it gives me security that He has everything under control. I Chronicles 29:11 says, “Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the Kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.” I love to spend time every day praising God for who He is and His great power. I am happy to be in His secure hands.

His presence comforts like no other. Make sure to take time today to be still, notice, and be aware of our amazing Saviour’s presence. He is there and wants to help, minister, and speak to us. Isaiah 41:10, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

I’m so thankful for God’s promises. They give the confidence I need to endure the waves that try or do knock me down. Remember what God has done in the past to help and heal you. Deuteronomy 8:2 admonishes, “And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.”

Then finally our awesome Saviour’s peace makes the journey of life a delightful one. The world is searching for such peace. We have it available through Jesus Christ our Lord. John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Today, let me encourage you to….

Call on His power!

Look for His presence!

Remember His promises!

Enjoy His peace!
