Abrupt Announcement – Keep the Faith

The following is an excerpt from my Scripture Journaling on February 7, 2022. February’s theme was “Heroes of the Faith”. I had no idea the abrupt announcement I would receive at the end of March.

Hezekiah – out of sickness made strong

Isaiah 38:1-22

Isaiah 38:3 And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

Hezekiah was just given grievous news that he was going to die. Even good men are alarmed, and saddened by the abrupt announcement of death.

Hezekiah knew that he still had a work to do for the Lord – he was only about thirty- nine years old. He chose to earnestly plea for his life. In his distress, he reminded the Lord that he had been a faithful, obedient servant of the Lord which should be given a long life (Proverbs 10:27; Ecclesiastes 7:17). God was pleased and granted him 15 more years.

Life is terribly unpredictable. Even with the best intentions and preparations, no one can foretell what life will throw at them. No matter what happens in life, we need to be determined to always walk before God in truth and with a perfect heart, and always do right.

Everyone needs reminding that God is always good, in control, and trustworthy even when things seem out of control. He has our best interest at heart and has a perfect plan for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11-13).

Praying you have a Christ-filled day♥️!
