Slow Cooker Budget Lasagna

Ingredients:

  • Frozen Beef Lasagna, 1 bag 25 oz
  • Cottage Cheese, 24 oz tub
  • Spaghetti sauce, 24 oz jar
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese, 1 pkg 8 oz

Directions:

  1. Spray slow cooker with cooking spray.
  2. Spoon 1/3 jar of sauce on bottom of pan. Top with layer of half of the ravioli.
  3. Top with 1/3 of the shredded cheese and ½ of the cottage cheese.
  4. Repeat layers. Top with remaining sauce and cheese.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until pasta is tender.

 

Notes:

  • Serves 6-8 people.
  • This recipe is very versatile. You can add ground hamburger, sausage, turkey, etc. You can add chopped or minced vegetables to the sauce. You can also substitute the pasta for whatever kind you have on hand.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an air tight container for 2-3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
  • Serve with a salad or green vegetable and garlic bread to make a tasty Italian meal. Enjoy!

Our son, Jakob, in college, requested this meal this week. He and his fiancé like to cook a meal together on the weekends. Since they are on a tight budget, I chose to give him an option for the slow cooker to make things easier for him. Our family loves lasagna, especially my husband.
